The “Los Angeles Por Ixta-Zihua, AC” Foundation was founded in February 2007 by Tomasina Jamison Esformes, Joseph Esformes and Ben Bourgeois.
The Foundation was created with the purpose of supporting the community of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo region, particularly the Bernardo Sepúlveda Regional General Hospital, which did not have the adequate equipment to meet basic health needs; thus combining its philanthropic activities with its passion for the bullfighting festival known as Fiesta Brava.
Faced with this situation, the Founders concluded that
By organizing bullfights that took advantage of their experience in this tradition, they could develop a means to involve the community, raise interest in the art and culture of bullfighting, and raise funds that would benefit various institutions.
The founders' main idea is to contribute to human development with the purpose of raising awareness about the urgent needs of society.
As a result of the success of the bullfighting events and concerts held in the region and in order to develop a presence at a national level and differentiate each charity event, a subsidiary called “Los Ángeles Taurinos, AC” has been created.
